Sister Jessie Solomon, 71

Jessie Mae Solomon “Sister Martha”, went to rest in her new home on February 6, 2020. She was born February 19, 1948 in Greenville, FL, to the late Albert and Jessie Solomon.

She attended Greenville Training School before moving to Charleston, S.C. where she trained in the culinary arts to become a chef.

She was head cook and manager of several restaurants in Georgia and South Carolina. She was a faithful member of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Quitman, GA. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories three sons, John Hadley (Vivian), James Hadley (Lesa), and Elijah Hadley; four brothers, David Stephens, Walter Solomon (Janice), Lorenzo Solomon (Mary), and Willie Solomon; one sister, Essie S. Shaw; six granddaughters, Hannah Yolanda, Sarah Elisabeth, Naomi Wilma, Hannah Elaine, Martha and Abigail.  A very “Special” daughter Leah R. Hadley, a “Special” sister Bennie L. Mitchell (Sister Mary) and a host of relatives, friends and her beloved church family.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Christian Center in Quitman with Pastor John Hadley officiating. Burial followed at The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery in Quitman.
