Virginia Sapp, 88

Mrs. Virginia Sapp, 88 of Quitman passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family holding her hand.  Mrs. Sapp was born March 1, 1931 to the late Abe & Hazel Jones Carmichael.  She was a member of Okapilco Baptist Church where she was a choir member, pianist, and organist.  Mrs. Sapp was also in the following clubs, Pebble Hill Community Club, Red Hat Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Genealogy Society, and the Quilting Club.

Survivors include her children, Cherry (Hollis) Ensley of Acworth, Dale (Duce) Layfield of Tallahassee, and Marcus (Shelly) Sapp of Barney; grandchildren, Dewey (Mary) Ensley of Acworth, Brandon (Melissa) Ensley of Woodstock, and Mandy (Chris) Webb of Raleigh, N.C.; great grandchildren, Kyle, Rachel and Jason Ensley of Acworth, Katelyn and Sydney Ensley of Woodstock, and Elaina Webb of Raleigh N.C.; sister in laws, Laura Sapp of Moultrie, and Louise Sapp of Quitman; and special caregiver, Jamie McDonald. Mrs. Sapp was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sapp.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Okapilco Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Icard officiating.  Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Dewey Ensley, Brandon Ensley, Kyle Ensley, Chris Webb, Frankie Sapp, Jay White, Tony Sapp, Clenton Sapp, and James Watson Hart.
