Brooks County murder suspect captured

The suspect in a Brooks County murder has been apprehended, according to the GBI.

A GBI official said that Roberto Andablo Gaona was captured by US Marshalls in Texas. Previously, the GBI was requested by the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office to conduct the murder investigation of Yessica Baena Torres, who was found deceased in a vehicle near the intersection of Troupeville and Studstill Roads in Brooks County. Before his capture, Gaona was wanted on the following outstanding warrants: felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. An autopsy will be performed on Torres later this week at the GBI Crime Lab.
