Early Voting Ending
Early voting ends tomorrow.
Friday, November 3, is the last day to early vote in the county-wide special election. Early voting will be from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 610 South Highland Road in Quitman.
Election day is Tuesday, November 7. Voters will need to go to their local polling locations. The polling locations are below:
• Quitman Ag Annex– 400 E. Courtland Avenue in Quitman
•Barwick Community Center–190 Massey Street in Barwick
•Dixie Volunteer Fire Dept–199 Church Street in Dixie
•Briggs East Brooks Fire Dept–50 Brookfield Drive in Valdosta
•Pavo Fire Station 1300–522 Harris Street in Pavo
•Nankin South Brooks Fire Dept–7246 Madison Highway in Quitman
•Morven City Hall– 178 2nd Street in Morven
Main office, early voting and absentee ballots is at 610 South Highland Road in Quitman. If you are unawarre of your polling locations, call the office at 229-263-9939.
The item that Brooks County voters will have on their ballot is a question from the Board of Education regarding the 1% SPLOST sales.
As of Thursday, November 2, 175 Brooks County citizens have cased their ballot.
Currently in Quitman, incumbent Lula Smart is running for District 1 Post two and Kechia Sloan Harrison is running for District 2 Post 4.
Currently in Morven, Danny Johnson is running for Post 3, Annette Guess is running for Post 4, and Billy Smith is running for Post 5. Both Quitman and Morven have one person qualify for each position, so no election will be held.
